Description: The work is located at two different county facilities; the Eastern Regional and the Western Regional both in Orange County. The work at the Eastern Regional site includes the treatment expansion to 40 mgd of the existing facility.

One of the key components is the addition of eight new forced draft aerators. The work will also include four new two-stage air quality control units, and two additional transfer pumps with variable frequency drives for the transfer pumping station.

Another key component of the project is the installation of on-site sodium hypochlorite generation systems that will replace the existing gas chlorination systems. These systems will be installed at both the Eastern and Western Facilities.

Additional work includes a new 5 mg ground storage tank, a fluoride feed system, two additional high service pumps installed in two existing pump cans with all six pumps being provided with new variable frequency drives, and an additional carbon dioxide system feed panel and injections point. Expansion of the existing sodium hydroxide storage and feed, an antiscalant feed system and 1,700 linear feet of 48” off-site raw water piping.
